Who Is Jeon Jung-kook?

Jeon Jung-kook was born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea. His family consists of his parents and an elder brother.

“3D” (feat. Jack Harlow) topped Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart for two weeks.

The song is a bare-bones pop R&B track that expresses desire through deft use of Jung Kook’s soft soprano and breathy vocals, with two rap verses by Jack Harlow.

GOLDEN Album — November 3, 2023: A Record-Breaking Debut

Golden is the debut studio album by Jung Kook of BTS, released on November 3, 2023, through Big Hit Music. It is primarily a pop record and an all-English album that was met with generally favorable reviews from critics. It features guest appearances by Jack Harlow, Major Lazer, Latto, and DJ Snake.

Golden entered music charts in 25 countries and topped the South Korean, Belgian, French, Lithuanian, and Japanese album charts. It reached the top 10 in 14 countries and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with 210,200 equivalent album units.

It became the highest-charting album by a Korean solo artist in the United Kingdom, debuting at number three. As of November 2023, it has sold over 2.4 million copies worldwide.

Military Service and Return (2023–2025)

In December 2023, Jung Kook took a significant step. He put his soaring career on pause and answered his country’s call.

Jung Kook and Jimin enlisted in December 2023. South Korea requires all able-bodied men aged 18 to 28 to spend 18 months in active service.

Jimin and Jung Kook of BTS were officially discharged from South Korea’s mandatory military service on June 11, 2025, in Yeoncheon, South Korea.

At the discharge ceremony, Jung Kook spoke to journalists and fans, saying, “Actually, it’s been so long since I’ve been in front of cameras, and I didn’t even put on makeup, so I’m a bit embarrassed… I don’t know what to say.”
