Stephen Amell

Stephen Amell is a Canadian actor, producer, and occasional professional wrestler who is highly known for playing Oliver Queen on The CW superhero series Arrow (2012–2020).

Early Life:

Stephen Amell’s born name is Stephen Adam Amell and his ancestry is English, Scottish, German, and approximately 1/16th French-Canadian but, his nationality is Canadian. Clearly, he has stated that he is a Christian.

Career Highlights:

Stephen Amell debuted his career in the acting field by appearing in two episodes of the fourth season of Queer as Folk in 2004. In 2007, he won a Gemini Award for his guest-starring role on ReGenesis, a Canadian TV series. Before this, Stephen worked in insurance for five years back in Canada.

In January 2012, Stephen was cast as Oliver Queen/ The Green Arrow in The CW series Arrow, based on the DC Comics superhero. It helped him a lot in gaining fame. Moreover, Stephen has made his presence in professional wrestling promotions, including working a match for WWE in 2015. In 2017, Stephen joined Bullet Club at the Ring of Honor show in San Antonio and later The Elite.

Stephen announced that he would be participating in a special celebrity edition of American Ninja Warrior, in May 2017. In addition, his first post-Arrow project was announced in August 2019 as Heels, a Starz drama series set in the world of independent professional wrestling.

Personal Life and Relationships:

Stephen Amell is the son of Thomas J. Amell and Sandra Anne Bolte. Also, he is the cousin of American-Canadian actor and producer Robbie Amell. Stephen’s family is from a political and business background.

Amell attended a private independent school for boys; St. Andrew’s College for his education.

Stephen Amell was married to Carolyn Lawrence on December 8, 2007. But, they got divorced in 2010. Again, he tied the knot with American model and actress Cassandra Jean on December 25, 2012. The couple has a daughter named Mavi.
