East was a member of the female group Addictive Ladies, which was mentored by Simon Cowell on season two of The X Factor in 2005. The group was evicted in week one after finishing in the bottom two with Chico Slimani. Through her manager, she met drum-and-bass producer DJ Fresh in 2011. She appeared on the song “Turn It Up” from Fresh’s album Nextlevelism in 2012.

In January 2012, East signed with the record label Strictly Rhythm and released two singles under the name Fleur as the lead artist: “Broken Mirror” with Cutline and “Turn the Lights On”
