Who Is Danica Taylor?

Danica Taylor is an English television personality and professional dancer born on 13 April 2001 in Leicester, East Midlands, England. She is of British and Jamaican heritage.

She entered the public eye on 17 June 2022, when she joined the eighth series of ITV2’s Love Island as a bombshell. She stayed in the villa for 51 days — one of the longest runs of any bombshell that season. Her exit went viral when she danced her way out of the villa on camera.

She married in July 2025.

Early Life and Education

Taylor grew up in Leicester. She trained in dance at university and graduated with a degree in the subject before her television debut.

She dances across multiple styles. On Love Island, she told the other contestants she loves Samba and Latin American dancing.

Before the show, she worked as a professional dancer at Chica Bonita Entertainment in Nottingham. In December 2021, she performed as a backup dancer for Jax Jones at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball.

Entering the Villa

Taylor entered the Love Island villa on 17 June 2022, on day 15 of series 8, as a bombshell during a “sex-sea” challenge — in which the girls performed a seductive dance for the boy of their choice.

Her first pick was Luca Bish. In the recoupling that followed, she coupled with Luca, splitting him from Gemma Owen and sparking immediate debate among the islanders and viewers.

Life in the Villa

Taylor moved through several pairings during her 51 days. She shared a kiss with Davide Sanclimenti early in her run. She later coupled with Jamie Allen, a professional footballer, in the final weeks of the series.

She dominated the villa’s talent show with her dancing. The show’s final-week recap on Vulture noted she “dominates the talent show with her expert dance moves.”

Her personality attracted a loyal fanbase. Viewers praised her warmth and sense of humour throughout the series.

On 27 July 2022, a public vote placed Taylor and Jamie Allen in the bottom three couples, alongside Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, and Adam Collard and Paige Thorne. Taylor and Allen were dumped just days before the final.

Her exit went viral. She danced out of the villa — staying true to her profession to the last moment — and the clip circulated widely on social media.
