Who Is ArrDee?

ArrDee is one of the most exciting rappers to emerge from the United Kingdom in the last decade. Born Riley Jason Davies on September 17, 2002, in Brighton, England, he rose from working in an Amazon warehouse to making UK chart history — all before the age of 20. His story is quick. It is sharp. And it is entirely his own.

A viral appearance on Russ Millions and Tion Wayne’s “Body (Remix)” landed both ArrDee and the track a spot in the history books: it became the first drill song to reach number one on the UK charts, due in no small part to the Brighton MC’s iconic verse.

Since then, ArrDee has racked up multiple UK Top 10 singles, a platinum-certified debut mixtape, and millions of streams worldwide. Furthermore, as of 2025, he has stepped out as a fully independent artist — building his career entirely on his own terms.

Early Life: Brighton, Bars, and a Family Passion for Music

Growing Up in Brighton

ArrDee was born and raised in Brighton — a coastal city in East Sussex, England, known for its vibrant culture, independent spirit, and the iconic Brighton Pier.

He pursued his education locally at Hove Park School in Hove, East Sussex. Brighton is not traditionally associated with the UK rap and drill scenes. Therefore, ArrDee’s rise from this unlikely base makes his story even more compelling.

Writing Bars From the Age of Eight

Music was never far from ArrDee’s life. Writing his own bars from the age of eight, Brighton-born ArrDee grew up on artists from 50 Cent to Bon Jovi thanks to a family-wide passion for music.

The Song That Changed Everything: “Body (Remix)” (2021)

In April 2021, everything changed. ArrDee appeared on the remix of Russ Millions and Tion Wayne’s song “Body,” which topped the charts in various countries, including the UK.

The remix featured an all-star lineup including Bugzy Malone, Fivio Foreign, Darkoo, Buni, E1, and ZT. However, ArrDee’s verse cut through the noise. It went viral on TikTok almost immediately.

The result was historic. It was the first drill track ever to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart. ArrDee was not yet 19 years old.

Solo Debut: “Oliver Twist” (June 2021)

ArrDee wasted no time. He then released the single “Oliver Twist,” referencing the book by Charles Dickens, which peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart.

The song was clever. It was catchy. Moreover, it proved that ArrDee was not just a feature artist — he was a solo force in his own right.

“Flowers (Say My Name)” — His Biggest Solo Hit (November 2021)

November 2021 brought ArrDee’s most successful solo single to date. “Flowers (Say My Name)” heavily samples Sweet Female Attitude’s garage classic “Flowers,” and interpolates Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.”

The song peaked at Number 5 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100, spending 12 weeks in the Top 40, with seven of those weeks being in the chart’s Top 10.

It flew straight into the number one spot on the Official UK Trending Chart on release day. ArrDee had now secured three UK Top 10 singles in a single year — a remarkable achievement for a teenager from Brighton.

“War” with Aitch (February 2022)

ArrDee continued building momentum. On 3 February 2022, ArrDee released his single “War,” featuring rapper Aitch. The collaboration between two of the UK’s most exciting young rappers generated huge buzz. It also set up the release of his debut mixtape perfectly.

Pier Pressure — Debut Mixtape (March 2022)

On 18 March 2022, ArrDee released his debut mixtape, Pier Pressure. His debut mixtape Pier Pressure debuted at No. 2 on the Official Albums Chart and reached No. 1 on the UK Streaming Chart, becoming one of the biggest breakthrough UK rap releases of the year.

Pier Pressure is a 14-track mixtape, produced by LiTek and WhyJay. The project was released through Island Records and Universal Music. It earned a BPI Gold certification and confirmed ArrDee’s status as one of the most commercially potent young artists in the UK.

2023–2024: Evolution and Experimentation

ArrDee kept releasing music through 2023 and 2024. “Home for My Heart” debuted and peaked at number 35 on the UK singles chart on 17 March 2023.

In 2024, he returned with a series of new singles. On 7 March 2024, he released “Time,” featuring French rapper Favé. He also released “Heavyweight” with K Motionz in May 2024, “Different” in July 2024, and “Demure” with LeoStayTrill in September 2024.

Going Independent: 2025

As of 2025, ArrDee is an independent artist, having been dropped by his label. Rather than treating this as a setback, he embraced it.

By 2025, he was operating as an independent musician after parting ways with his record label, releasing singles such as “Cross the Line” and “Need Somebody” alongside former So Solid Crew member A!MS.

He also appeared on “Same Cycle” with Hedex and Digital Farm Animals in 2025. The independent era allowed him full creative freedom — and he used every bit of it.

Lead by Exsample EP (June 2026)

2026 has been ArrDee’s boldest chapter yet. On 29 January 2026, ArrDee released “Yo Yo Yo.” On 22 May 2026, he released the single “I Ain’t Complaining.” Five days later, he announced the forthcoming release of his EP, Lead by Exsample, which was released on 26 June 2026.

Lead by Exsample is a project built around creatively reworking and flipping iconic samples across the tracklist. The EP showcases a fresh sound while still delivering the energy, charisma, and infectious delivery that made him one of the UK’s most exciting artists.

The EP was released through SoundOn — an independent distribution platform — cementing ArrDee’s transition into full creative and business ownership.

Fatherhood in 2026

April 2026 brought the biggest personal milestone of ArrDee’s life so far. In April 2026, ArrDee announced the birth of his first child, a daughter.

He shared the news publicly, giving fans a rare glimpse into his personal world. The announcement was met with widespread support from both his fanbase and the wider UK music community.
