Boxing Career: The Misfits Ring (2024)
The Build-Up
In 2024, Danny announced his debut in influencer boxing through Misfits Boxing — the promotion run by KSI. He was initially scheduled to face TikToker Brandon ‘Beavo’ Beavis, but Beavis pulled out with an injury. Former Premier League defender Danny Simpson stepped in as a replacement.
Danny reacted to the news with characteristic humor: “Fighting a Premier League winner wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card, but here we are.”
The Fight: MF & DAZN X Series 17 (August 31, 2024)
Danny Aarons faced Danny Simpson on August 31, 2024, at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, on a show staged by KSI’s Misfits Boxing.
To raise the stakes, Simpson would give his Premier League gold medal from his title-winning season with Leicester City to Aarons if he lost. Meanwhile, Aarons would surrender his YouTube plaque for reaching one million subscribers to Simpson if the footballer won.
The fight commenced as a professional bout, marking both fighters’ professional debut. Aarons and Simpson ended the night with a bloody four-round brawl that saw neither man get the nod and instead ended in an anticlimactic split draw (39-37, 38-38, 37-39).
After the fight, Danny was gracious in defeat. He took to social media and stated: “Nothing but respect to Danny Simpson, who stepped in on five weeks’ notice and was nothing but respectful towards me and my team. It was an honor to fight him.”
Boxing Retirement (July 2025)
Danny Aarons suffered a gruesome knee injury filming a KSI boxing challenge video in 2025. He immediately crumpled to the floor and required oxygen.
The injury made his decision clear. Aarons admitted: “I can’t walk down stairs right now, and that’s told me boxing’s not for me anymore. I’m a dad now, first time I hop back in the ring and I do my knee?”
Therefore, Danny officially retired from boxing in July 2025. His record stands at 0 wins, 0 losses, and 1 split draw.
