Jon B is an American singer, record producer, and songwriter who is known for writing songs for Color Me Badd, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson, and the Spice Girls as well as his debut studio album “Bonafide”.

Early Life:

Jon B born name is Jonathan David Buck and he was raised in Altadena, California, USA. His nickname is Boogotti.

Career Highlights:

Jon B started his journey as a songwriter for Color Me Badd, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson, and the Spice Girls.

After writing songs he debuted his first album titled “Bonafide” on May 23, 1995, which had 13 songs in total and was a huge success. Then he released his second album titled “Cool Relax” on September 16, 1997, which had 15 songs, and in “Are U Still Down” song Tupac Shakur was also featured.

His second album “Cool Relax” also got certified as double platinum by the RIAA. In 1997 he also co-wrote the Brownstone hit “5 Miles to Empty” and the same year he collaborated with Dominiquinn and Silky Deluxe for the album titled “Retro Futuristo” which was never released officially.

After that on March 20, 2001, he released his third album titled “Pleasures U Like” which had 20 songs in it, and on October 5, 2004, he released his fourth album titled “Stronger Everyday” which had 16 songs in it.

On November 14, 2006, he released his fifth album titled “Holiday Wishes: From Me to You” and his sixth album titled “Helpless Romantic” was released on October 28, 2008, with 14 songs in it.

He then released “Comfortable Swagg” his seventh album on February 14, 2012, and currently, he also has written and produced songs for Luther Vandross, Gina Thompson, and Toni Braxton.

He also has received a state citation and a key to the City of Pawtucket which was presented by Carlos E. Tobon and Mayor Don Grebien on January 15, 2016.

Jon B also has had a lot of nominations for awards as he was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1995 for “Someone to Love”. He was also nominated in the 1998 Billboard Music Awards as he was nominated for Top Hot R&B Singles Sales, R&B Artist, R&B Singles Artists – Male, Hot R&B Single, and Soul Train Music Awards for Best Male Single for They Don’t Know/Are You Still Down.

Personal Life and Relationships:

Jon B was born to his mother Linda Buck and his father David Buck. His mother was a concert pianist and his father was a music professor.

He also has two siblings an older sister named Deborah Buck who is a violinist and a younger brother named Kevin Buck who is a cellist.

Jon is currently married to Danette Jackson in 2007 and has two daughters named Azure Luna Buck and L’wren True Buck.

Before that, he was also married to Musiic K. Galloway in 1998 and was divorced later.
